About the role

 

An opportunity currently exists for a Rescue Crew Officer to join our Aviation & Critical Services team on a full-time basis, supporting our operations in Rockhampton.

 

As part of this role you will:

 

  • Conduct safe flight operations complying with CASA, contractual and company policies and procedures;
  • Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
  • Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
  • Conduct rescue operations over land and water in accordance with Company policies and procedures;
  • Assist the Aircrew Officer and Medical Transport Specialists when required;
  • Report flight safety related issues;
  • Maintain readiness of operational role equipment;
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base facilities;
  • Maintain high personal and professional standards at all times to reflect positively on our Company and our partners;
  • Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry;
  • Ensure security and safe configuration of cabin and equipment; and
  • Other tasks as designated by the Base Manager or Chief Aircrew Officer.

 

 

About You

 

Essential requirements:

 

  • Bronze Medallion
  • Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate;
  • Current Senior First Aid/ Advanced Resuscitation Certificate;
  • HUET/ HUET with EBS Qualified;
  • A high level of physical fitness;
  • Ability to pass an initial fitness test consisting of the following elements:
    • Carry 15kg a distance of 2 km in under 20 mins;
    • 20 continuous push-ups in under 2 mins;
    • 8 sec hang test;
    • 700m swim in less than 16 mins (no fins);
    • 300m finning on your back in less than 10 mins in full gear;
    • 100m survivor tow non-stop in full gear
    • Tread water 10 mins
  • Be able to proactively maintain a high level of fitness autonomously
  • Be able to work as part of a small team
  • Meet the requirements of the Queensland Health Preventable Diseases Policy; and
  • Ability to relocate to Rockhampton.

 

 

Desirable requirements:

 

  • Rotary wing experience
  • B412 and AW139 experience will be highly regarded
  • AVI30216 Certificate III in Aviation (Rescue Crew Officer)
  • Rescue Crew Officer experience
