About the Role
 

Seize the excellent opportunity to play a crucial role within one of Babcock’s key Defence programs. As the Engineering Technician (Supportability) (Supply Support), you will be responsible for spares development, management, and analysis of equipment through life management, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective delivery of Total Cost of Ownership for defence products.
 

Your role encompasses supporting and providing insights into Integrated Product Support (IPS) activities, including life cycle cost analysis, planned maintenance documentation, and technical publications. You will actively contribute to engineering and technical team decisions and development of LORA, MTA and OTA documentation and outcomes.
 

In addition, you will be involved in obsolescence and disposal activities, playing a role in trade-off analysis during the design and modification of equipment and associated logistics support requirements.
 

Furthermore, your responsibilities extend to contributing to process improvement initiatives within the engineering lifecycle, aiming for continuous enhancements in quality, cycle time, and asset utilisation.
 

You will bring
 

  • Australian Citizenship with a Defence security clearance.
  • A technical vocational qualification/certificate.
  • Experience within ILS acquisition or sustainment programs.
  • An understanding of applicable ILS/IPS and Engineering Toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, modelling, design, simulation and analysis software).
  • Previous experience within a technical maintenance and support environment.
