About the Role
 

Babcock is currently in search of an experienced HSE Advisor to join our Maritime Sustainment team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in promoting and fostering our ‘Safety First’ culture, with the ultimate goal of establishing a top-tier HSE reputation in the industry.
 

As the HSE Advisor, your responsibilities will include planning, implementing, and overseeing compliance with safety measures on Naval Ships. You’ll also contribute to the creation of a Project Risk Register to identify and address significant HSE risks, ensuring that planned risk mitigation strategies are put into action.
 

Moreover, you’ll be responsible for hazard identification and documentation, collaborating with relevant stakeholders to devise strategies for eliminating or reducing associated risks. Your role will involve facilitating discussions with stakeholders to ensure full comprehension and adherence to HSE requirements while offering expert advice on HSE matters.
 

Furthermore, in this position, you will actively participate in the development and review of HSE procedures, communications, and alerts. Additionally, you’ll be involved in the preparation of HSE plans and reports to ensure alignment with our contractual commitments.
 

What you will bring
 

  • Experience in an HSE Advisor Role in a similar industry.
  • Cert IV Health & Safety Management.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 – Health and Safety Management Systems.
  • Knowledge of Legislative requirements (Environment and Workplace Health & Safety).
  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance or the ability to obtain.
