About the role

Reporting to the HSEQ Manager, this position is pivotal to the successful delivery of assigned contracts.

As a leader within the business, you will provide a “centre of competence” on all matters concerning WHS and environment to support the implementation of appropriate safety measures to prevent injury, loss of business, prosecution and insurance claims.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
 

  • Implement and maintain HSE policies, procedures, plans and process maps relating to WHS and environment that comply with company, contractual and legislative obligations;
  • Responsible for the leadership and management of the HSE function within their nominated contract;
  • Advise the HSEQ Manager, Program Director and Operations of all significant concerns/events associated with WHS and environment;
  • Drive Critical Risk Management Controls to reduce the companies HSE risk profile; and
  • Capture and analyse HSE performance data against defined parameters and produce statistical reports, identify trends and lead positive initiatives to proactively reduce future negative events.

 

About you

Essential:

 

  • Extensive experience in an HSE Advisor Role in a similar industry
  • Cert IV Health & Safety Management
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current drivers license
  • White Card
  • Knowledge of ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems
  • Knowledge of ISO 45001 – Health and Safety Management Systems
  • Knowledge of Legislative requirements (Environment and Workplace Health & Safety)
  • Computing Skills (Microsoft Office Suite)

 

Desirable
 

  • Formal Qualification in Environmental Management
  • Formal Qualification in Incident Investigation
  • Cert 111 Fire Warden

 

Essential Compliance Requirements
 

  • Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • No restrictions to access For Official Use Only (FOUO) level or ITAR controlled material
  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance
  • MUST be an Australian Citizen

This position will work within our Marine business unit, which provides asset management solutions to the Australian maritime sector. Working closely with supply chain partners, marine provides cost-effective and responsive solutions that optimise the availability, capability, and seaworthiness of critical maritime assets. Marine supports assets across the Royal Australian Navy’s fleet – most notably the Anzac Class Frigates as a member of the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA) and the Canberra Class Landing Helicopter Docks (LHD), LHD Landing Craft (LLC) and associated assets.
