About the role

With the opportunity to work across various disciplines and contracts, you will expand your network and build your skills and be an integral part in growing Babcock’s capability within Defence.

 

Due to significant growth within our organisation and region, we are seeking interest from those who wish to support the application and implementation of export control compliance obligations across Babcock Australasia.

 

Reporting to the Trade Control Manager and being able to work from anywhere in Australia or New Zealand, the Trade Control Team ensures compliance with all company import and export control policies and procedures and compliance are within the relevant export control laws and regulations from around the world, with particular focus on the US International Trade of Arms Regulations (ITAR).

 

Role/s could be based from Adelaide, Perth, Canberra (Australia) or Devonport (New Zealand).

 

Ideally you will

Be an experienced Trade Control Specialist or have a supporting tertiary qualification within an associated discipline and possess an excellent interpersonal and analytical skill set.  You will be a confident team player that has a passion for identifying and driving change, have exceptional time management and organisational experience coupled with an ability to prioritise, plan and organise your work load and timeframes with a strong attention to detail.

 

Additionally, to be successful in this role you will have:

 

  • Tertiary education in a relevant degree such as Engineering or Law is preferred;
  • Knowledge and understanding of Australian, UK, and US export controls;
  • Exceptional communication skills;
  • Ability to build positive working relationships with a variety of stakeholders;
  • High level computer skills and a proven ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly;
  • Positive approach to continuous improvement and change management.
