About the role

 

Reporting to Head of Trade Controls, Security and Facilities, the Trade Control Manager will support the application and implementation of export control compliance obligations.  This includes ensuring compliance with all company import and export control policies and procedures and compliance with relevant export control laws and regulations from around the world, with particular focus on the US International Trade of Arms Regulations (ITAR).

 

Locality negotiable, you will Lead a Babcock Australasia Trade Controls Team, liaise with government authorities and external consultants on relevant regulatory matters and provide all internal stakeholders with information on legislation and regulatory frameworks that apply to Babcock Australasia’s export and trade controls activities.

 

With a team, you will provide export compliance expertise to support business development and project management activities and monitor access controls for all export-controlled technology used by the business units. You will also ensure that all projects and support functions strictly comply with requirements of US (ITAR, EAR), UK, Australian and all other export control rules and regulations, co-ordinate and forward licence applications, provide export compliance expertise to support business development and project management activities and support all internal stakeholders by evaluating compliance and export controls. 

 

About You

 

You will preferably come from a Legal or Compliance background with excellent knowledge and understanding of Australian, UK and US export controls.   You will ideally have supporting tertiary qualifications within an associated discipline and possess an excellent interpersonal and analytical skill set.  

 

Having exemplary communication skills with an ability to build positive working relationships with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders, will see you having the ability to empower, educate and influence others.  This will contribute to achieve optimal performance and compliance in the relevant area of expertise.
