About the role
Are you excited by the challenge of working on major defence projects? Babcock is seeking an experienced Systems Integration and Test Lab (SITIL) Technical Officer to help deliver our largest-ever contract, enhancing the Australian Defence Force’s operational capability.
As the SITL Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the management and upkeep of the SITL and the Level 3 repair facility for the Enhanced High Frequency Communication System (EDHFCS). Your role will ensure the lab operates efficiently to support system integration, testing, and repair activities.
This is an opportunity to work in a technically challenging environment, contributing to the reliability and sustainment of a critical communications system.
About you
You are an experienced technical professional with a background in systems integration, testing, and maintenance—ideally within Defence HF communication systems. You have worked in a similar technical lead role, managing complex test environments and overseeing maintenance activities for high-availability communication systems.
You thrive in hands-on environments, taking ownership of lab operations while collaborating with engineers and technical teams. Your ability to manage test facilities, maintain system integrity, and contribute to sustainment strategies makes you an ideal fit for this role.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Relevant experience in systems engineering and test evaluations
- Relevant exposure to Defence High Frequency Communications system
- Excellent technical communication skills- written and verbal
- Australian Citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain Commonwealth Personnel Security Clearance
