Job Description

What you’ll be doing

At customer sites across the East Coast of Australia, New Zealand & PNG, you will act at the technical focal point supporting customer owned Solar Turbines’ turbo-machinery products (Gas Turbines, Compressor Sets, Generator sets).

On site activities include troubleshooting, new equipment commissioning projects, service and maintenance inspections, equipment removal and installation (Of Solar Turbines turbo-machinery products)

Responsibilities include:

  • Complying with Solar Turbines’ and clients’ HSSE policies and procedures.
    Ensuring maintenance services and installation support adheres to relevant specifications and standards.
  • Utilizing sound judgment when analyzing problems, with little to no supervision to solve issues in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Performing preventive/corrective maintenance.
  • Providing technical assistance to customer operations and maintenance crews.
    Generating detailed and technical reports.
  • Ensuring customer expectations are always met or exceeded.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified Mechanical/Electrical/Instrumentation trade OR degree qualified Mechanical, Electrical or Controls Engineer with industry experience.

Some skills you may have:

  • Strong customer focus and customer service skills.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rotating equipment and/or PLC systems.
  • Good communication skills with the ability to write clear technical reports.
  • Gas Turbine, Power Generation and Gas Compression experience.
  • Oil and Gas industry experience.
  • Allen Bradley PLC experience
  • Computer literate (MS Office and other windows-based applications experience).
