This is a brilliant opportunity to work as part of the MEH Alliance on the prestigious Hinkley Point C Nuclear project. The alliance work across the project to integrate and coordinate the delivery of all main Mechanical, Electrical, Heating, Ventilation and Air-Conditioning (MEH), cabling and associated support services. This innovative approach will help different contractors work as a single entity to deliver the complex installation of cabling and pipework in the power station’s vast network of rooms.
The role
As a Senior HSE Advisor you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Being part of the MEH Alliance working on Hinkley Point C is a chance to be involved in a major project with national significance.
Day-to-day, you’ll:
- Act as the first point of contact for the H&S Advisors
- Escalate issues that cannot be resolved or requires further support to the H&S / Discipline Leads.
- Oversee the HSE advisors K.P. I’s and Support HSE Area Lead within accident/investigations..
- Conduct audits of MEH site activities and sub-contractor operations as well as facilitating meetings
- Record the findings of audit reports and inspections in line with the HSSE Management system requirements.
- Build relationships with other Tier 1’s and the Principal Contractor
- Monitor the working practices of MEH employees and contractors regarding health and safety, environment and welfare.
This role is full time and is based onsite at Hinkley Point C
Essential experience of the Senior HSE Advisor:
- NEBOSH general certificate/NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
- H & S Diploma or working towards.
- Strong construction background with a minimum 5 years’ experience.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills to explain HSE procedures and expectations to a range of people.
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations.
- IT literate – familiar with Microsoft packages.
