About the role

 

An opportunity currently exists for a Rescue Crew Officer to join our Aviation & Critical Services team, supporting our operations in Horn Island. Babcock has been awarded the Queensland Health Horn Island contract for a period of 12 years with 2 new AW139 helicopters. This opportunity offers great stability using state of the art equipment.

 

As part of this role you will:

 

  • Conduct safe flight operations IAW CASR, Operations Manual and contractual requirements.
  • Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies.
  • Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation.
  • Conduct rescue operations over land and water in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Conduct Front left seat day and NVIS operations.
  • Assist Aircrew Officers and Medical Transport Specialists in training and operations when required.
  • Perform the tasks of a Surveillance Air Crew in support of Australian Border Force Operations.
  • Be able to obtain a Baseline Security Clearance.
  • Be an effective member of an operational team, displaying teamwork, integrity and competence.
  • Maintain readiness of operational role equipment.
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment.
  • Conduct aircraft flight preparation, configuration and post-flight husbandry.
  • Ensure security of cabin and equipment; and
  • Other tasks as designated by the Base Manager or Chief Aircrew Officer.

 

 

About You

 

Essential requirements:

 

  • Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate
  • Current Senior First Aid/ Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
  • HUET Qualified
  • A high level of physical fitness
  • Ability to successfully complete the Rescue Crew Officer fitness test

 

 

Desirable requirements:

 

  • 500 hours of rotary wing experience
  • AVI40119 Certificate IV in Aviation (Aircrew Officer) (highly regarded)
  • Bronze Medallion
  • B412/AW139 experience
  • FLS experience
  • NVG experience
