About the role

As the Principal Engineering Technician (Supportability) (Technical Author) at Babcock, you will be responsible for planning, managing, preparing, developing, and updating material for incorporation into company publications or those sponsored by Babcock. You will provide technical leadership and input into various elements of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) program, further enhancing your experience and leadership skills. Your responsibilities will include conducting complex technical investigations, ensuring the relevancy and currency of publications, and providing technical authoring advice to maximize knowledge transfer within the organization. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring compliance with procedures, codes, and standards in engineering and technical activities, while also contributing to process improvement initiatives and talent management within the technical teams. This role offers you the opportunity to lead the development of sustainable and innovative solutions that benefit the organization, the community, and the world.

 

About you

You are an experienced and driven individual with a passion for technical documentation and supportability. With at least 8 years of experience in authoring technical publications and 2 years in managing technical documentation programs, you will have a solid understanding of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) principles and techniques in addition, holding a technical vocational qualification and preferably a professional certification with a relevant technical body, you are well-equipped to take on the challenges of this role. Your analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and positive work ethic make you an ideal candidate to lead complex technical authoring projects and mentor junior team members.
