About the Role
 

Reporting to the Engineering Team Lead – Collins Operations (WA or SA), this role will be key in providing Mechanical Engineering expertise within our growing Collins Submarine Program team. The role will see you influence technical decisions and provide mechanical engineering knowledge of structural, hydraulic and pneumatic design and analysis techniques to support design and sustainment project activities.

Role responsibilities could include:
 

Apply engineering domain knowledge to produce technical solutions and documentation in support of assigned task and project. Carry out technical investigations and analysis to provide data for problem assessment/resolution and for design of improvements. Provide a technical interface with internal and external stakeholders. Contribute to process improvement within the operational and/or design lifecycle to deliver continuous improvements in quality, cycle time and asset utilisation. Keep up to date in relevant technical areas and develop skills and capabilities to be able to provide effective delivery.

 

This role is based in WA but we will support relocation for the right candidate! 

 

About you
 

With extensive experience in an Engineering role, you will thrive in a complex environment and have a passion for the Defence industry. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation and pride yourself on your ability to use initiative. You will have excellent communication skills which allow you to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and possess the following:
 

Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering Australian Citizenship with NV1 security clearance. Membership of a relevant institution and hold or working towards Charted status. 2-5 years relevant experience and demonstrate a good understanding of the design, analysis, manufacturing and support techniques across relevant disciplines. Previous experience with mission and safety critical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical systems in a submarine environment. Previous engineering experience in either Marine / Defence / Defence Industry.
