The role
As a Infrastructure Systems Analyst, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Reporting to the Infrastructure Systems Manager, you will be a key part of the Infrastructure Team responsible for maintaining VMware virtualisation, 

 

Day-to-day, you’ll maintain server hardware firmware and assist the team with a migration as well as maintaining, analysing troubleshooting existing hardware. 
Main Responsibilities

  • Maintain server hardware firmware 
  • VMware general administration.
  • Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades using Red Had satellite, Yum repositories. 
  • Analysing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.
  • Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software and servers.

 

This role is full time, 37.5 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with one or two days onsite. Ideally you are situated within one hour’s commute of one of the following locations: Bristol, Edinburgh or Plymouth.

 

Essential experience of the Infrastructure Systems Analyst

  • Substantial proven experience in a 3rd line support role and be able to communicate with team members and across various teams
  • Must have a solid foundation in Linux Administration
  • Solid track record of technical knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure Systems environments
  • Cisco hardware skills or proven hardware skills
  • Strong IT Knowledge
