As the Human Resources Assistant, you will play a key role in the Human Resources team and getting Australia to space! You will be responsible for providing effective, timely, accurate human resource support and assistance to Gilmour Space Management and Employees. As a key member of the Human Resource team, you will support the overall Human Resource operations for Gilmour Space, especially in the recruitment sector. This is an excellent opportunity for a new human resources administrator or recent graduate to grow into their next role.

This position requires a proven ability to use professional discretion when dealing with confidential matters.

How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

  • Assist the Human Resources Team in providing accurate and timely human resources support, advice and guidance to managers and staff on a wide range of human resources issues and relevant legislation
  • Heavy focus on recruitment assistance and performing tasks such as reference checks, advertising positions, processing background and referee checks, organising interviews, etc.
  • Assists with implementation and updating of human resources policies and procedures
  • Assist in coordinating relocation requirements for overseas employee placements
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale and increase productivity and retention
  • Prepare and order stock for HR as necessary
  • Prepare and issue documents as required
  • Ensures that Human Resource files and records are maintained in accordance with legislative requirements and company policies and procedures
  • Updates HR data and event in SharePoint and other software as required
  • Organise meetings, conferences and functions as required
  • Assist investigate HR matters and act appropriately on the findings
  • Perform duties associated with onboarding and offboarding
  • General office administration as required
  • Other duties as requested by Management

Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or related fields or a minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role
    • Evidence of exceptional ability
    • NV1 Security Clearance eligible preferred
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, conflict resolution skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
    • Proven Ability to prioritize and manage work demands and deliver outcomes
    • Self-motivated, results oriented with a high level of attention to detail
