About the Role

Embark on an exciting career journey as a Finance Manager at Babcock, where your role will be pivotal in offering crucial business partnering support to our Marine division. As an integral member of our finance team, you will actively collaborate with the Program Managers, functional leads, and key customers, providing support for existing Collins-class Submarine fleet, Hunter frigate build and contribute to the potential growth opportunities linked with the AUKUS deal.Your responsibilities encompass the development, implementation, and monitoring of effective financial decision support systems, including the delivery of financial analysis and essential information to senior leadership in alignment with our strategic and commercial business objectives.
 

In addition to your strategic contributions, you will offer valuable support and assistance to stakeholders on finance and accounting matters, ensuring the adherence to financial controls that safeguard the company’s assets. Your commitment extends to aiding in the preparation of Monthly Management Reports and actively participating in program audits as required. As a proactive team member, you will take the lead in initiating recommendations for the continuous improvement of processes and standard procedures. Your dedication to compliance will guarantee a thorough understanding and adherence to applicable finance rules and procedures, ultimately contributing to the overall success and financial stability of Babcock.

 

You will bring
 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/ Finance, Commerce or similar.
  • CA or CPA Status
  • Extensive experience as a finance manager or a similar role in a large, complex environment.
  • Effectively analyses information and adeptly resolves problems, ensuring timely and comprehensive solutions for stakeholders.
  • Possess a high level of business acumen and demonstrates commercial awareness.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and expertise in utilising ERP systems such as SAP and IFS.
  • Australian Citizen with a Baseline security clearance or the ability to obtain.
