An exciting opportunity is now available for a System Asset Manager within the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) Capability Lifecycle Manager (CLCM) program based at Henderson WA. The System Asset Manager is accountable to the OPV CLCM Asset Management Lead for the proactive asset management of allocated OPV systems to ensure availability and supportability through the operating life.

Key Responsibilities

For the functional systems allocated, the Asset Manager is accountable for proactive asset management of allocated OPV systems (Configurable Items), ensuring the supportability, reliability, and functional/operational performance of each system. This includes:

  • Ensuring the Navy operating intent is met by the OPVSPO support intent for the System;
  • Analysing, prioritising and progression of obsolescence, supportability, and reliability issues;
  • Review and endorsement of engineering change independent assessments;
  • Reviewing the effectiveness and implementation of inventory and maintenance optimisation strategies where required to improve safety and seaworthiness and/or to reduce cost of ownership;
  • Capability forward planning across Upgrade, Update and Upkeep projects;
  • Development and maintenance of stakeholder relationships pertaining to the support of the system; and
  • Development, maintenance, and identification of opportunities to reduce the Total Cost of Ownership model.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a collaborative enterprise environment;
  • Previous experience in Sustainment and Capability Lifecycle Management Programs;
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • A tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in a technical discipline;
  • Experience in project management methodologies, including scope, schedule and risk management, proposal development, financial and commercial aspects;
  • Proven analytical problem-solving skills;

Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
