Role Overview

As a member of CAE’s IPAC Project Management & Execution Team, the role is primarily responsible for working with Project Manager’s and other stakeholders to define complex project/program schedules, determine critical paths, constraints and perform scenario based analysis of schedules and to support Project Management Office reporting, processes and improvement initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Work with Project Managers and other stakeholders to define Project/Program schedules, determine critical paths, constraints, and perform scenario based analysis of schedules
  • Develop schedules as part of a proposal and/or project team involving strategic bids or contracts in concert with standard planning practices (i.e. use of predecessors, successors, durations, calendars, constraints, leads, lags)
  • Create Potential projects for Work Force Planning reporting needs.
  • Set up Cost and Schedule baseline
  • Define and maintain project WBS
  • Provide project planning expertise to project team/s
  • Coordinate Schedule Review Meetings for Project execution
  • Monitor project progress against the plan, analyze information to define problems, and formulate recommendations.
  • Maintain up to date Schedules and ensure that they align with budgeted cost
  • Act as Planisware SME (Training will be provided)
  • Organise the Project Initiation and Project Closure process in co-operation with the PMO Lead
  • Ensure that projects are established in Planisware in time for work commencement
  • To drive Continuous Improvement activities

Qualifications and Experience/Requirements  

To be considered for this role, you must have the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications or relevant experience
  • Experience in manipulation of industry standard planner tool.
  • Project management certification, asset.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience – equivalent combination related to project planning and control.
  • Good Troubleshooting skills
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and precision.
  • Good interpersonal skills, diplomatic
  • Good communication skills (written and spoken).
  • Ability to manage one’s time and multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Program management, MS Project, Planisware and Power BI experience, an advantage.
  • Ability to communicate with customers.
  • Innovation, creativity, sense of ownership.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimum guidance and supervision.
  • Ability to drive the collection of data and sign off from multiple geographically dispersed resources.

Note: as the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible for SECRET (NV1) level Defence security clearance, and preferably already hold a current SECRET (NV1) clearance. Australian citizens only.
