As our Barista, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our small cafe’s daily operations, including preparing and serving coffee beverages, staff satisfaction, inventory control and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere in our workplace. 

This is a Part-Time role with the potential to develop into a Full-Time position in the future.

How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.

  • Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages 
  • Interact with staff and visitors in a friendly and professional manner  
  • Process orders including accurate point of sale and cash handling 
  • Ensure that the cafe area is clean, organised, and stocked with necessary supplies at all times including food and snacks 
  • Prepare basic food items such as sandwiches, and lunch/morning tea items 
  • Opening and closing procedures required  
  • Regularly monitor equipment performance and organise servicing of the coffee machine as well as reporting any repair needs to facilities 
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation procedures 
  • Other reasonable duties as requested by Management 

Minimum Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a barista in a cafe or similar setting 
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment  
  • Proficiency in coffee preparation techniques 
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanour 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities 
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons
