About the role:

As the Procurement Manager you will be accountable for heading up the Procurement team to lead their efforts on customer centric supply chain activities across a variety of programs and projects. You will mature and innovate the procurement capability to support Lockheed Martin’s growing business in Australia including new facilities for warehousing and assembling. Fit-out activities and implementation of improved or new ERP/MRP systems and processes will be required.

This new, challenging and exciting role will see you providing effective Procurement leadership and management through robust policies, processes and procedures while applying a systematic approach to the development and introduction of new procurement solutions.

Other day to day responsibilities include:

  • Lead a broad range of procurement activities in support of a variety of programs and projects requiring high and medium complex sourcing as well as standard purchasing.
  • Lead and perform supplier identification and assessments for a wide range of goods and service types.
  • Mature and prepare the procurement capability for imminent growth and future business needs.
  • Provide procurement support for business development and capture activities of the business.
  • Lead, direct and mentor the Procurement team members to achieve their potential and maximising their contribution to the achievement of goals.
  • Proactively undertake all people management and development practices.
  • Provide a significant contribution to the creation of a positive and effective workplace culture which recognises and values both individual and team contributions to organisational effectiveness.
  • Continuously drive procurement process improvement and excellence.
  • Maintain a high level of procurement governance and compliance.

About you:

  • Extensive experience and advanced understanding of complex and simple procurement in commercial and defence environments.
  • Significant demonstrated procurement experience working within an engineering or project environment.
  • Demonstrated procurement experience in the context of new facility construction and fit-out activities.
  • Demonstrated experience with ERP/MRP systems and their implementation.
  • Business development and capture experience from a procurement perspective.
  • In-depth knowledge of applicable law as it relates to procurement.
  • Significant experience providing effective guidance, mentoring and training to procurement employees.
  • Whilst not essential, CIPS or IACCM certification will be highly regarded.

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and ideally hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
