Your responsibilities will include:

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) program, Australia’s biggest surface combatant ship project to date. This role offers location flexibility and can be based either in Osborne, SA or Melbourne CBD.

The Cyber Security Advisor will contribute to and deliver the engineering definition of Cyber Security for networks and systems that form the HCFP Combat System (CS) Security Architecture, supporting the achievement of Information Security (InfoSec) accreditation.

You will primarily be responsible for:

  • Primary Cyber Security point of contact for delegated systems, subsystems and networks
  • Lead the security risk assessment process throughout the engineering lifecycle
  • Define the security requirements for the systems and network
  • Liaise with Australian Defence certification and accreditation authorities
  • Liaise with independent testing organisations to arrange security test activities
  • Produce/maintain security documentation to support achieving accreditation of the systems and networks
  • Run security working groups with stakeholders, inclusive of Engineers, suppliers and members of the Australian Defence security team
  • Mentoring, coaching and training of the Product Security engineers to build the cyber security resource capability
  • Other security related tasks at the direction of the HCFP Security Management Lead
  • Review subcontractor deliverables

 

About you:

To be successful in securing this position, you will have:

  • Significant experience in reviewing, interpreting and implementing Information Security Manual (ISM) controls
  • Significant experience in interpreting security requirements, analysing and recommending security measures and policies
  • Significant experience in the design and implementation of Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) security policies
  • Significant experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) Tools and analytics
  • Significant experience in the evaluation of  ICT infrastructure  (Hardware/Software) configurations for security vulnerabilities
  • Significant experience in Network Intrusion Prevention/Detection (NIPS/NIDS) methodologies and technologies
  • Strong technical documentation skills
  • Demonstrated and clear understanding of security responsibilities and application
  • Previous exposure to the Australian Defence industry and ASDEFCON process (desirable)
