The role

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter provides RAAF an advanced capability and the aircraft is supported by complex, unique ICT infrastructure and mission systems.

The Strategic Mission Planner role delivers mission support services, and carries out mission planning and mission planning related tasks.

As the Strategic Mission Planner, you will be required to work night shift and accompany squadron on oversea’ s deployment.

Other responsibilities include (not limited to):

  • Serve as subject matter expert on OMSE and JMPS systems, and critical F-35 mission software data.
  • Assisting/managing the loading of cryptographic material onto the Off-board Mission Support (OMS) workstations.
  • Managing all settings of OMS/JMPS to ensure they meet 81WG’s standards.
  • Carrying out mission planning and related tasks as directed by the Flight Lead, SQN Fighter Combat Instructor (FCI), 81WG WEAPO or Chief Mission Support.
  • Attending and participating in mission briefing and debriefing as required by the Flight Lead, SQN FCI, SQN WEAPO or Chief Mission Support

Desired skills and experience 

  • Military aircraft mission planning system.
  • Military aviation operating environment (e.g. intelligence support to fighter operations).
    Aviation operating environment.
  • Radar, electronic warfare, electro-optical targeting, and fire control systems.
    Precision weapons and PGMPS.
  • Link 16/Datalinks.
  • COMSEC handling.

Special Requirements:

Applicants are required to hold & maintain CoA NV2 security clearance with eligibility to obtain CoA PV.
