Your responsibilities will include:

Lockheed Martin is contracted to the Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) in the development of the Multichannel Active Radar System (MARS). As part of the current upgrade, LMA are required to deliver new features and functionality to the radar capability consisting of new hardware and updated software.

The Radar Engineer is primarily responsible to undertake specific analysis and design activities to develop, test and deliver hardware and software to meet the MARS Phase-6 requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Participate in the architecting, design, development, implementation and testing of customised software
  • Participate in the installation of hardware components and assemblies into chassis, racks, cabinets, workstations, customer facilities, and/or shelters
  • Assist DSTG in test and integration activities including land trials
  • Deliver IT processes, procedures and documentation to ensure system adherence to Defence IT security policies
  • Perform system administrator tasks including the creation and maintenance of ICT Infrastructure documentation

 

About you:

To be successful in securing this position, you will have:

  • Significant experience with C++ development
  • Experience and or understanding of NVIDIA Cuda GPU programming
  • Experience developing software in a Linux environment
  • Experience with the Qt Framework
  • Experience in Digital Signal Processing
  • Experience with Mathworks MATLAB software
  • Well-developed application of technical principles, theories and concepts, in the field
  • Experience with laboratory equipment including oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers and RF components
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline from a recognised institution and/or relevant experience within the Defence sector
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience in RF Design or Radar Systems is desirable, with an emphasis on Signal Processing and real-time systems
