This growth has led to the creation of multiple Senior Project Manager/Program Manager roles to contribute to the steady pipeline of activities within the Integrated Systems Operating Unit (IS OU) of Northrop Grumman Australia. A Senior Project Manager/Program Manager at NGA will have a track record of working across large, complex projects/programs and captures within Defence environments using ASDEFCON. They will be responsible for delivering commercially successful and fit for purpose projects or programs whilst assuming responsibility for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of major works, ensuring consistency with the Corporate Vision, Mission and Strategic Direction.

These positions are ideally based at our Fortitude Valley offices, hybrid options are available.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience as an effective leader with experience influencing culture and cultivating high performance.
  • Project Management experience with medium to large complex projects and knowledge methodologies (PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, etc.) and best practice.
  • Ability to negotiate with a broad range of stakeholders.
  • Contemporary knowledge of communication, engagement, change management as they apply to successful project management.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities while maintaining focus on core deliverables
    Expertise in complex project and program planning and scheduling including ability to analyse and report on complex issues, evaluate associated risks, benefits and strategies
  • Superior financial acumen in managing budgets and completing projects within acceptable P&L margins
  • High level ability in demonstrating flexibility in planning and managing available resources against changing and competing demands.
  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 Defence Security Clearance.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Understanding or experience with any of the following:  Systems Engineering lifecycles  /  ITIL  /  Software development and application lifecycles  / Agile project delivery  /  Prosci ADKAR Models
  • AIPM L4 (CPPD) – Certificated Practising Project Director
  • AIPM – Chartered Project Professional (ChPP)
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP)
  • Disciplined Agile Scrum Master (DASM) Certification
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification

Note: As a Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian Citizens. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) are applicable, as such your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
