With multiple positions available due to our ongoing success and business growth, we are seeking C4I Design / Integration Engineers to join our Naval Engineering design team in our Melbourne CBD based engineering office. We are looking for Engineers from a range of skill, knowledge and experience levels, from Engineer to Senior Engineer positions.
Successful candidates will work on a range of combat, communications, weapons and sensor systems integration projects, in support of a wide range of Australian maritime programs for both new construction (such as the current RAN surface ship programs) and for sustaining and upgrading ships of the RAN Fleet.
The role:
- Perform specialist design and engineering in the integration of combat, communications, weapons and sensor systems within the AMT C4I Department;
- Provide C4I engineering support and guidance within whole of ship teams involving all AMT technical disciplines;
- Undertake management of engineering projects involving C4I integration, from engineering investigations, through design concepts and OEM interaction, all the way through preliminary and detail design to production implementation and customer acceptance; and
- Represent AMT on a professional and technical basis with our ADF/Navy clients, with our customers within the Defence Industry and with the broader OEM and system supplier community.
About you:
To be successful, you will need to have the following skills and attributes:
- A relevant Engineering degree (such as Computer Systems, Electronics or Communications);
- Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered status;
- Demonstrated understanding of ADF combat and communication systems and/or integration of similar systems onto a parent platform (i.e. ship, aircraft or vehicle);
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal abilities, including building and maintaining positive relationships with our staff and customers;
- Well-developed problem diagnosis and solving skills;
- Effective time management skills and strong attention to detail;
- Ability to mentor other colleagues; and
- The motivation and drive to develop your technical capabilities within a highly supportive, multi-discipline specialist naval engineering environment.
Due to the nature of the work, you must be an Australian Citizen to be eligible for Australian Defence Security Clearance. The selection process for this role will include pre-employment screening including a Police Records Check.
