The Project Lead is responsible for the direction, management and development of staff engaged in the delivery of the program. This includes the day-to-day coordination, management, planning, development and testing of the program’s key performance indicators and ensuring customer satisfaction is achieved.

Reporting to the Program Manager, and working closely with internal and external stakeholders, the Project Lead will ensure the safe and effective delivery of the program, ensure project governance requirements are met, support reporting on program delivery and performance, and ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and direct the day-to-day management, coordination and delivery of the scope of work, including Feet Management, Repairable Item Management, Spares Inventory Management, Procurement and Supplier Management.
  • Lead and manage the sustainment team to ensure achievement of performance targets.
  • Lead and manage Inventory and Financial Management reporting activities.
  • Contribute to the identification, assessment and management of program risks, issues and opportunities in accordance with company policies.
  • Initiate and drive workforce and process efficiencies.
  • Actively manage subcontractor and supplier performance to ensure they provide the required level and quality of service.
  • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with internal and external customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Provide key input to ensuring resource availability and competency to deliver outcomes effectively and efficiently.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Demonstrated high-level of proficiency in Defence Logistics systems including MILIS, AIMS and IMAT is essential.
  • Sound working knowledge of the Defence Supply Chain Manual.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform project management activities including work scheduling and prioritising, coaching, and process execution.
  • Previous experience and responsibility for making minor improvements to processes, systems or products to enhance the performance of a work area.
  • Ability to work without direct management control / oversight.
  • Practical experience in applying Export/Import and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements.
  • Requires an Advanced Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience leading supply chain and procurement teams within a Defence Logistics environment.
