We currently have multiple opportunities for experienced Trades professionals in disciplines such as Welding and Fabrication within our Hotworks bays as well as our lifting and slinging operations to join our production teams in Rosyth, where you’ll play a key part in helping to build the new ‘Inspiration’ class, Type 31 frigate as a Supervisor within your Trade to lead and support your teams within the Build Hall. 
Type 31 will be at the heart of the Royal Navy’s surface fleet, deterring aggression and maintaining the security of the UK’s interests. They will work alongside the UK’s Allies to deliver a warship presence across the globe and enable a forward naval presence.

The role
As a supervisor, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. If you can bring technical and team leading skills and a safe working attitude, then we can provide you with one of the most exciting engineering projects this country has to offer. 

You’ll be part of a friendly, supportive team, working alongside other experienced professionals like yourself who are engaged in the leading of your Trade team, who will be carrying out Welding, Fabrication or Lifting related activities in a production environment supporting the Type 31 unit build – from piece part creation through to manufacture and whole ship build. 

Key Tasks and Activities will include:
•    Creating and reviewing of Risk Assessments.
•    Ensuring that Tool-box Talks and Safety Briefs are effectively communicated and adhered to.
•    Establish and ensure that safe working practices and the working environment are in accordance with the company policies.
•    Manage the workload to meet programme requirements whilst achieving cost, time and quality requirements.
•    Take full ownership of activity levels within the area 

The supervisor role covers but not limited to: 
•    Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve team & individual goals
•    Must have the ability to interface with and influence key suppliers and programme stakeholders
•    Good team leadership skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and delegate work in a changing environment
•    Excellent communication skills
•    Strong interpersonal, coaching and influencing skills
•    Well-developed customer awareness
•    Open mind to change 

The supervisor role is full-time, 37-hours per week, Monday to Thursday, with plenty of opportunities to boost your earnings potential with flexible overtime and the opportunity to work shifts.

Qualifications of the Supervisor:
•    Strong trade bias, holding associated technical qualifications and experience
•    Good communication/Interpersonal skills
•    Good planning/coordinating skills
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
