Senior Structural Engineer

As our Senior Structural Engineer, you will be part of an integrated product team providing a range of engineering services in support of the Defence High Frequency Communications System, and other related projects.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Perform Structural Engineering activities in support of the Defence High Frequency Communications System. including structural analysis, acceptance testing and certification.
  • Structural Analysis of steel lattice and guyed steel lattice structures with concrete foundations, including loading, corrosion, modification and corrective procedures.
  • Structural Analysis of other structures, including floor/wall/roof/member loadings, corrosion, fatigue and materials analysis.
  • Produce and maintain high quality technical documentation and drawings within a formal engineering documentation management system.
  • Drive the development of maintenance and corrective procedures for existing structures
  • Conduct activities in accordance with project plans and timelines within established practices and standards, whilst seeking out opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to structural designs with respect to statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide troubleshooting throughout all phases of implementing and sustaining the communications system structures.

About you

You are degree qualified in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience ideally in RF transmission towers within a Defence environment. You have strong knowledge and experience within Structural Engineering and the design of preventative/corrective maintenance of guyed steel lattice structures with concrete foundations.

You are a great communicator and have a drive for engaging with all business stakeholders to provide best outcomes. 

You have a strong understanding of the Defence Capability Lifecycle and hold an NV1.
