The Company

Owen International provides marketing, representation and project management for overseas manufacturers along with long term support and maintenance services for delivered products.

For over 30 years Owen International has supplied specialised systems, equipment, parts and services to the Australian and New Zealand Defence Forces, Emergency Services, Government and Industry.

Reporting

Responsible to

  • Engineering Support Manager

Responsive to

  • Operations Manager; and
  • Sales Team

Location

Primary location of work is at the registered offices of Owen International; 15/2 Campbell Street, Artarmon NSW 2064.

The role may require occasional travel and time away from the office.

Job Purpose

To perform:

  • Fault diagnostic and repair tasks on designated equipment
  • Routine and preventative maintenance on designated equipment
  • Field based commissioning and maintenance tasks

Responsibilities and Duties

Supporting Owen International’s long-term support and maintenance services for delivered products, primarily in the Defence sector. Responsibilities and Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform field and workshop based routine maintenance, fault finding and repair tasks on advanced electronic equipment
  • Assist completion of documentation of the required repairs/ Defence documentation associated with engineering related tasks
  • Complying with Engineering procedures, Repair Specifications and following safe work practices
  • Assist with technical investigations, commissioning activities and larger scale repair tasks

Generally supporting the wider business objectives of Owen International and contributing toward building a sustainable business in a team environment.

Job Specifications

Qualifications / Skills

  • Trade Qualifications in Electronics, Communications or Avionics
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Practical knowledge of Office 365 applications
  • Class C Driver’s License

Experience

  • 1 year of practical experience in their given field preferred
  • Experience within the Defence industry would be preferred

  • Proficient communications and good presentation
  • Must be an Australian Citizen and eligible for a Defence Security Clearance
