About the role
 

As a result of our expanding contract, Babcock is actively seeking a skilled Technical Officer to become a valued member of our Counter-Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive (C-CBRNE) team! Our C-CBRNE capability plays a pivotal role in deploying cutting-edge technologies to prevent and combat chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive threats that pose a risk to Australia’s national interests. As the Prime Vendor responsible for the supply of C-CBRNE goods and services, Babcock spearheads the Introduction into Service activities and the lifelong sustainment of the C-CBRNE Fleet.
 

In this role, you will be an integral part of our esteemed Technical Services team, which is dedicated to ensuring the continual sustainability of the C-CBRNE fleet. Your responsibilities will encompass upholding technical integrity, overseeing maintenance protocols, and effectively managing parts and publications. You will serve as a subject matter expert, lending your expertise to internal acquisition projects and collaborating with Defence end-user groups across a wide spectrum of technical services. Additionally, you will be responsible for supervising the delivery of technical support and maintenance services, which includes cultivating and maintaining relationships with OEMs, contracted Maintenance and Service providers, operating units, Joint Logistics Command (JLC), and Other Commonwealth Contractors.
 

Ideally you will have
 

  • Australian Citizen with an NV1 security clearance (or the ability to obtain).
  • Certificate III (or above) in a relevant technical discipline (electronics, electrical, mechanical, engineering, etc.).
  • Previous experience working within the Defence industry.
  • Previous experience using MILIS / SAP Programs.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and manage workload effectively.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to consistently deliver a high level of customer service.
