About the role 

Bring your administration or project coordination skills to a diverse role and help us deliver world-leading sustainment and support to the Royal Australian Navy’s largest vessels – the Landing Helicopter Docks and their associated vessels (LHD Landing Crafts).

 

Based at the Garden Island Defence base in Potts Point, this role will see you provide on-site administration support to the Babcock project team to ensure timely performance and compliance requirements are met within the project.

 

In this role you will review and consolidate key project documentation packs, maintain the project registers and the Inbox communications, provide updates and attend meetings to produce minutes and actions. You will complete goods receipting and work order close outs in the accounting system, and provide general administration support across the team.

 

This is a full-time fixed term contract role until 30th June 2024, with flexible options for start / finish times and hybrid working arrangements may be negotiated.

 

About you 

As a dedicated administration professional with a passion for projects and the defence industry, you will pride yourself on your ability to effectively manage and meet multiple, shifting priorities within the business. Your excellent interpersonal skills will see you build strong working relationships with multiple stakeholders at various levels. You thrive in a complex setting and deliver exceptional service at every interaction.

 

To be successful ideally you will have:

 

  • Australian Citizen with active Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain and maintain)
  • Previous experience in a busy office or project administration role
  • Ability to manage and work across a variety of tasks at one time
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of accounting and purchasing processes and systems
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
