About the role
 

Babcock is actively seeking a Quality Assurance Advisor to play an essential role within one of our Defence programs. This position will be instrumental in leading a variety of quality assurance activities and initiatives for our JP9101 program,  where Babcock has taken the lead in managing and enhancing the existing Defence High Frequency (HF) Communications capability at multiple sites across Australia. Maintenance and operation of the HF communications system will ensure Australian and allied armed forces have a secure communication capability to transmit voice and data to and from virtually any location worldwide.
 

As one of our appointed Quality Assurance Advisors, your responsibilities will encompass the full spectrum of Quality Assurance, including planning, monitoring, auditing, reporting, and advisory functions to align with both company and customer requirements. You will be tasked with conducting internal audits, reporting on audit discoveries and offering suitable recommendations for future actions, ensuring strict adherence to contractual, legislative, and corporate mandates.
 

Furthermore, you will provide assurance and assistance in investigating, managing, and resolving customer complaints and supplier non-conformance issues. This will entail conducting thorough quality assessments with subcontractors located at various sites across Australia, assuring their alignment with task and contractual requirements.
 

You will also play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the audit schedule for the program in collaboration with the program’s stakeholders.  You will be at the forefront of leading assurance initiatives and the implementation of the Business Management System (BMS), in accordance with AS/NSZ ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System protocols. The role will be crucial to maintaining and enhancing the high standards of quality within our Defence programs.
 

About you

With strong attention to detail, you will have the ability to collate, analyse and present data and your strong interpersonal and communication skills will see you build robust relationships with stakeholders. You will also possess:
 

  • Australian Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence security clearance.
  • Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role at in a similar Defence or high-risk industry.
  • Knowledge of other business management system standards such as ISO 14001 Environmental Management, ISO 45001:2018 Safety Management and AS/NZS 31000:2018 Risk Management.
  • Knowledge of supplier quality auditing and internal quality management systems auditing.
  • Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor Certificate for AS/NZS ISO 9001:2015.
