About the role
An opportunity currently exists for a Dual Role Aircrew Officer/Rescue Crew Officer to join our Aviation & Critical Services team on a permanent full-time basis, supporting our operations in Rockhampton.
As part of this role you will:
- Operate as an Aircrew Officer on HEMS and SAR missions, on B412 and AW139 aircraft;
- Operate as a Rescue Crew Officer on HEMS and SAR missions, on B412 and AW139 aircraft, performing down the wire rescue tasks over land, water, vessels by day and night;
- Conduct safe flight operations complying with CASRs, contractual and company policies and procedures;
- Report promptly on all operations and maintenance deficiencies;
- Complete pre-flight and post-flight documentation;
- Assist the Aircrew Officer to maintain aircraft clearances, aircraft configuration, ground handling duties, patient handling and cabin security;
- Assist medical transport specialists when required, when able, and within scope;
- Report flight safety related issues;
- Maintain readiness of operational role equipment;
- Assist with the ongoing maintenance and inspection of base and role equipment;
- Conduct aircraft flight preparation and post-flight husbandry;
- Conduct base administrative tasks in support of smooth base operations;
- Ensure security and safe configuration of self, cabin and equipment; and
- Other tasks as designated by the Base Manager or Chief Aircrew Officer.
About You
Essential requirements:
- Bronze Medallion
- Current CASA Class II Medical Certificate
- Current Senior First Aid/ Advanced Resuscitation Certificate
- HUET/ HUET with EBS Qualified
- Greater than 500hrs Aircrew Officer experience
- Be able to proactively maintain a high level of fitness autonomously
- Be able to work in a small team and promote teamwork
- Relocate to Rockhampton
Desirable requirements:
- B412 and AW139 experience
- NVIS experience
- Rescue Crew Officer experience
