As our Reliability Engineer you’ll be responsible for providing reliability, availability, and maintainability expertise to support the implementation, evolution and improvement of the Logistics Support Analysis Environment (LSAe) program. This will ensure the LHD Assets capability and sustainability are achieved while the Total Cost of Ownership is optimised.

 

You’ll also be the go-to for assisting the Senior Reliability Engineer with developing and evolving Asset Management capability including reliability engineering, practices, processes, procedures, systems, and resources to provide safe, effective and efficient Asset Management services.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively seek to understand Babcock’s strategic intent and direction, statutory and business requirements, and evolving customer needs.
  • Work in a team environment and under moderate supervision to:
  • Develop robust Reliability Engineering practices, processes, procedures, specifications and instructions in support of safe, effective and efficient Asset Management services.
  • Conduct Reliability Engineering analyses to determine maintenance requirements and optimise both the organic and external preventative maintenance programs.
  • Conduct failure investigations and root cause analyses including FTA, RBD, Fishbone, FMECA, FRACAS, etc to treat and mitigate recurring URDEFs.
  • Develop and implement effective Reliability Improvement strategies to reduce risk, improve system performance and system health and optimise Total Cost of Ownership; and
  • Prepare system performance reports, data models and simulations to monitor, forecast and validate system reliability and system health.
  • Build and nurture collaborative relationships with the NSM staff, LHD Enterprise staff and OEMs.
  • Provide leadership, direction, guidance, and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Provide professional advice and technical recommendations as Subject Matter Expert to the LHD Enterprise.
  • Liaise with the Logistics Support Analysis Environment (LSAe) Consortia to support the seamless implementation of the LSAe program.
  • Assist the Asset Performance and Optimisation Manager to evolve and improve the Asset Management capability and capacity within the LHD Asset Class Prime Contractor Support Contract; and
  • Actively contribute to and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

 

 

About you

You’re Engineering degree qualified and have solid experience working in reliability engineering. You have demonstrated knowledge and can support the development of Logistics Support and Analysis artefacts. If you have a working knowledge of Defence engineering, maintenance and financial policies and procedure this will benefit your transition into the role.
