Other qualities include:

Demonstrable experience in a commercial, legal or subcontracts role; Experience of managing, understanding and negotiating contracts in a complex environment; Knowledge of Australian defence contracts (ASDEFCON) is highly desirable; Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Business, Commerce, Law, Finance or similar).

 

About the role

 

Due to continued growth, we are looking for multiple Commercial Specialists to join our team.

 

As a Commercial Specialist, you will play a key role in the business by managing existing contracts, supporting negotiations, pricing activities and contract risk assessments, as well as supporting tender and organic growth opportunities to achieve our customers’ objectives.

 

Reporting to one of our Senior Commercial Managers, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial management of Babcock’s broad portfolio of contracts with government and corporate customers. You will also be part of the wider Commercial team with plenty of opportunities for development, learning and networking.

 

Responsibilities include:

Supporting negotiations with customers and suppliers on contractual and commercial issues; Supporting the preparation and review of contractual documents including new Contracts, Subcontracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Teaming Agreements and Changes; Proactive contract administration including preparation of letters, notifications, dispute notices and claims; Proactive contract obligations monitoring and management; Supporting the commercial aspects of bids and tenders, including reviewing terms and conditions, risk assessments, corporate approvals and tender responses; Maintaining relationships with customers, suppliers and other internal stakeholders; Providing contract management, legal, company secretary, insurance and governance support to project and bid teams, as well as the broader business.
