About the role

 

The Quality Assurance Advisor will deliver the Audit programme and conduct a range of Quality Assurance and Control activities across several sites, including preparing reports and making recommendations against a range of multi-disciplined (some integrated) activities and sub-contractors.

 

The scope of the audit programme incorporates all business-related procedures and activities that meet the Business Management System policy.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support the Senior Quality Assurance Advisor with all compliance requirements of the Business Management system.
  • Support the development of both the Subcontractor and the Internal Audit Program on the project and corporate levels.
  • Manage and Conduct Subcontractor and Internal Audits, as assigned, including planning, scheduling, reporting and findings management.
  • Conduct quality interactions with subcontractors during their performance of maintenance tasks to ensure their compliance with the task requirements and the relevant contractual requirements.
  • Carry out supplier pre-qualification capability audits and continued surveillance of capabilities.

 

Essential:

 

  • Formal qualification in Quality Assurance and/or 5 years’ relevant experience in a similar position using ISO 9001 / 45001 / 14001 management systems;
  • Three (3) years of experience in auditing HSEQ Internal and external (suppliers / subcontractors) management systems;
  • Lead Auditor/Internal Auditor Certificate for QMS ISO 9001:2015;
  • Sound knowledge of other business management system standards such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and/or BS EN 9100;
  • Incident investigation and root cause analysis qualifications;
  • Knowledge of Classification society rules and regulations for Naval ships and/or experience in marine construction / sustainment;
  • High level of computer skills (Microsoft Office, Visio, SharePoint);
  • Proven highly developed interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Proven ability to collate, analyse and present data;
  • Proven ability to comfortably work across a multi-disciplined environment; and
  • A sound knowledge of Business Management System auditing techniques.

 

Desirable:

 

  • Third-party auditing experience in top tier certification bodies;
  • Marine survey experience;
  • Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical discipline;
  • Practical experience and use of continual improvement tools and techniques e.g. process management, kaizen, lean sigma; and
  • An understanding of the Code of Conduct of the Australian Public Service and the Australian Defence Force.

 

Essential Compliance Requirements:

 

  • Current Motor Vehicle Driver’s Licence; and
  • Must either hold, or be eligible to obtain an Australian Defence Security Clearance.
